Crossover Break

So I decided to try and draw something vaguely different for once, seeing as just about every picture I've drawn is about the same pose ... er ... yeah. Cha-cha was probably my favorite and most tortuous bit from social dance class; it requires a good deal of cockiness and good posture (of which I have neither) to pull it off right. The cha-cha is a dance of flirtation, with the gentleman and lady striking poses, making eyes at each other, and occasionally chasing one another back and forth in a step called the chassé.

This is one of the strike-a-pose steps, called the crossover break. The couple starts facing each other and holding each other's hands, sidle to the right (cha-cha-cha) ... and FLING their hands through the space between them to pose to one side.

No idea what brought on this recent fit of extreme chiaroscuro, but there it is.
