Terra - FFVI

Second-to-last character pic for FF6, I think. And yes, I held with the game sprite more than with the Amano picture and gave her green hair; otherwise, it becomes very difficult to tell her apart from Celes. Likewise, I forgot the adorable purple sash she wears around her waist. Whatever was I thinking?

Terra is frightening when she first appears in Final Fantasy 6. With dead, emotionless eyes, she surveys the mining community of Narshe as she prepares to pillage it. But after an encounter with a frozen Esper, she awakens with strong amnesia and a persecution complex. It is through her quest for a past and for love that the story of FF6 unfolds, and as the plot progresses, she blossoms into a caring, self-assured young woman.

It is Terra's heritage that gives her a unique power in the game; she is the daughter of the Esper Maduin and a human girl named Madonna (Madeline in later versions of the game). From her Esper half, she inherits her bizarre hair color, as well as the ability to use certain magic innately. She also has an apotheosis of sorts, learning to take on an Esper form of her own in which her physical prowess and magical power undergo massive increases.
